Sequencing-Learning Aim B

3rd February Monday 2014

Our new topic is to create a music sequencing piece for a sandy beaches holiday, we need to pick a place/country and do a piece of music related to this country using a range of techniques and it has to be exactly 30 seconds long.
I need to include,Velocity, Quantising, EQ, Reverb, Use an A1 patch, Panning, Balances of each track and appropriate use of tempo.

5th February Wednesday 2014
Today I have been on cubase working on my Greece 30 second track for learning aim B, i haven't got very far as it is hard to find the right notes to match the Greece sound feel.
I have used any techniques yet as I haven't got a very long recording at this point.

12th Wednesday February 2014
This lesson I am going to work more on my Cubase piece for my holiday, hopefully by the end of the lesson  I will use some techniques to help get a distinction on this section.

My Greece soundtrack isn't finished yet as I need to make it longer and add techniques in still.
I will add EQ and velocity which are basic techniques just to see how it will sound at first.
Skills i can use are instrument tracks

My Greece soundtrack is now getting longer and i have added velocity today to change the speed of the note,heres a screen shot to show you the changes ive made, The bars at the bottom of the screen that are purple and red are the velocity changes in each note.

Today i have doubled the length of my theme tune this has made it 15 seconds long, i have looped my sound twice now so its he same sound twice but with different effects such as EQ and velocity.
I am half way through the length of my sound now so i can get a pass at this current stage.

18th Tuesday Februrary 2014

I'm close to finishing my Greece advert piece and ive added percussion and put everything in time. My piece is 50 seconds long so im going to cut it even shorter by choosing my best parts and getting rid of long pauses.

I am adding finishing touches to my final piece,I'm deleting some sections so that it doesn't overlap and sound like to much at once and going to add more techniques and effects next lesson.

I have finished my greece soundtrack and have added many more effects and techniques such as, Reverb,EQ,Classic Compresser,Double Delay,Classic Flanger and Dynamics, it is exactly 30 seconds long for the advert so it meets the criteria,this was hard because there are many effects and using the wrong one could ruin the whole rhythm.  I have 3 layers of tracks they are drums,a piano and percussion instruments such as maracas and tambourines. This sounds like a Greek theme tune because of the instruments I have chosen give off a Greece feel. I have added to the left and right ears and changed the volume of each track so it's evens out the sounds.

I am working on a power point that explains how ive met my learning aim and shows screenshots of my progress also of effects i have used. In this powerpoint ive added how ive used EQ, Panning, Volume control, instruments and velocity.

I have finished my powerpoint now it includes; use of techniques, use of panning, use of volume and use of effects. Also it includes how I have met the criteria(learning aim).
