LEARNING AIM A
Summary of project
Summary of project
Our group Kelly, Cain, Emlyn, Abbie and Daniel have decided to make a nursery rhyme CD and and audio book. Our audience is children aged 4-7. We all decided on that the audio book would be Little Red Riding Hood and the singing nursery rhyme would be Old McDonald. Our 3rd and final nursery rhyme is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. These will be put on a CD. We all discussed the nursery rhymes we wanted to use, the other option was Humpty Dumpty. We decided not to use this as we thought the other choices were more fitted for our audience. We each have jobs and deadlines to get this project completed.
For the Old McDonald nursery rhyme we are getting the year 8 choir to sing because it will be a good experience for them and its something different to one person singing it, Abbie suggested this option.
My job role in my group is a Producer. The equipment I will need for this role is the Ipads and Cubase 6 to record and mix successfully.
Copyright issues
I found out that as long as they are Mother Goose nursery rhymes they have no copyright, as it is part of the 'Public domain'. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Old MacDonald had a Farm are from the Mother Goose collection. Little Red Riding Hood was part of the Grimm fairy tales but it was then sold the Mother Goose collection. This means that there are no copyright regulations towards any of the stories or songs we are recording. I found these answers on Wikimedia and checked on the Mother Goose website.

Meeting 1
The first deadline was Emlyns on the 20th January 2015 and he has to bring in the red riding hood book. The next deadline is on the 21th January 2015 and I have to read and learn Little Red Riding Hood ready for the audio book to be recorded in next weeks lesson. We decided carefully who done each part. We agreed I did the audio book as I have one of the softer voices of the group and It will be better aimed at the audience if I read it. Kelly offered to record me in next weeks lesson. The deadline for Kelly to record me is the 28th January 2015. The next job is for Abbie to print out the Old Mcdonald song lyrics for the year 8 choir this needs to be done 20/1/15. All group members contributed good ideas in this discussion and we all made the right decisions as a group.
Meeting 2
On the 21st January 2015 Kelly recorded Demi read the audio book of Little Red Riding Hood. Cain and Emlyns have many jobs for the upcoming weeks. By the 29/1/15 my audio book should be mixed and edited by them. Furthermore they have to record the choir on the 3/2/15 and mix there track by the 5/2/15. These are jobs they have volunteered to do. The length of rehearsal time the Choir and I had to rehearse is 24 hours for me to learn the book and 1 week for the choir to learn the lyrics and tune. Kieras next job was to look up any copyright issues and inform our group, the deadline for this is the 28/1/15. Abbie did not meet her deadline to have the lyrics printed and ready for the choir by the 20/1/15. So this deadline was rescheduled for Dan and Abbie have them printed and given the Mrs Gower by the 28/1/15. In this meeting Emylyn and Cain made good suggestions, I made good contributions and Dan agreed on a lot of the ideas, further more Kiera volunteered.
Meeting 3
During meeting 3 I was mixing in the studio with Abbie. We mixed Old McDonald and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Throughout this meeting the rest of our group discussed the current status of our CD. On the 4th February all the recordings are in mid-production. The changes we made to these tracks and the audio book was that the audio book was recorded twice and I researched about how
long the average audio book should last and listened to other audio books on youtube in advance before choosing the final recording. Also both nursery rhymes took 2 drafts before we chose and
mixed each track. All of our aims in the group were achieved so no deadlines were changed. To complete Old McDonald we added a different sound sample for each animal e.g oink for a pig and moo for a cow, this had a positive effect and is suitable for our audience. Each member of the group was given a sound sample of each animal to bring in so its less time consuming for when we mixed. Dan had the duck and pig, Emlyn had a chicken and a twinkle sound, Cain had a donkey and Keira had the cow. Everyone met the deadline and brought these in on time and ready to add to the tracks. Good contributions were made in this meeting by Abbie and I.
Meeting 4
In this brief meeting we discussed new jobs for each member in the group, these are to be completed independently.

LEARNING AIM B
As you can see from the previous meeting my next task is to create a magazine advert. I have looked at a few different musical and non-musical adverts and here are some the most dynamic ones;

On this CD advert the good thing about this is that the artist is advertised on the front and it says when the album will be released. It also says who features in the album and this will attract a wider audience to anyone who likes more than just the single artist. A bad thing about this advert is that there is no songs shown and it used dull colours. Furthermore the album title is rather small and can be unclear for some people to see.

This advert has some negative and positives. A positive is that the artist is advertised clearly and the date is obvious. Another positive is that there is credible opinions about the album on the front. This puts a good image on 'KASABIAN' as it shows other important people have enjoyed the CD and has given it a good review. A negative is that there is not much information given.
Album title- Rhyme Time
Company title- Kadec-k
Cost- £5.99
You can purchase the 'Rhyme Time' from any from toy or young childrens store.

LEARNING AIM C- EVALUATION
Strengths in our group was that we all worked well together and make quick and easy decisions we all agreed on. Another strength was that we all participated in group meetings and each had individual ideas which was credible to the project. One last strength we had was that we all met our deadlines with no problems, I didn't feel we had any negatives working as a group as everything was done on time with disagreements or procrastination. The planning of the product was very strong and assertive, also any changes made to the product all of the group was informed and therefore our final product is a very strong and met all the learning requirements.
I feel I met my individual tasks well and contributed to the group productively. All of my deadlines were met on time. This affected the final outcome well as we all had a part to play and the only way the product would've have been done on time is if we stuck to them roles and did the requirements and all of us did, therefore this had a positive effect on the final outcome.

This is a good example of an musical advert because it has the venue, date and artists advertised clearly and the colours are attractive for the audience. A bad thing about this poster is that there is no venue pictures or prices. This could mis-lead the audience.
