Monday 7th October 2013
In my first few lessons in music I have been using cubase to create 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' i have done this and now I'm learning how to add different instruments in and put them together in a sequence. Ive also learnt how to equalise sounds.
Monday 14th October 2013
This lesson we are in the computer room looking at a 'Sequencing' booklet, and we are working on our PowerPoint's which are explaining how were using cubase and what the tools on cubase are.
Monday 21st October 2013
This is my first Cubase recording of Twinkle Twinkle Little star, now I have finished this i will do another nursery rhyme but use different techniques.
Techniques such as; equalisation, adding notes with a mouse or keyboard and steptime input.
I have also been putting this all on a powerpoint as i go through step by step, i will screen print some slides and put them on blog spot when its finished.

This last week i have been doing a powerpoint about cubase to show the different things and techniques you can do on cubase.
This powerpoint will be used in a presentation im doing in a few weeks to the class.
I have also started Ba Ba Black sheep on cubase using the MIDI keyboard, i will also use the techniques i have displayed on the powerpoint using screen prints.

Monday 6th January
I put a list of different techniques in my powerpoint about cubase to show what you can do. Adding notes with a mouse, Adding notes using thw MIDI keyboard, Steptime input, Importing MIDI material, Duration, Note position, Pitch, Velocity and Copying and Pasting notes.
I have used most of these techniques to create bah bah black sheep on cubase.
On December the 4th I done a performance to the class using my cubase powerpoint. This is part of Learning Aim A. Miss Harris video recorded all of us each lesson.

Here I am going to show all the different techniques you can do on Cubase, and what they mean.

Copying and pasting tracks onto Cubase will then create repetition of the same phrase.
Duration-Length of the note. You can edit this on cubase by dragging the pencil tool along the note.
Note Position- Where you position your notes on the editing role, you can listen to your track and move the notes around if it doesnt sound right.
Pitch-How high or low the note is, you can edit this by moving the note up and down on the piano roll.
Velocity-How hard you hit each note on the keyboard.
Choosing loops and samples,a loop is copied and pasted music going round and round. Looping regions is looping sections of music but highlighting it. Software instruments are instruments created through synthisises, such as halion 1.
A software mixer is a program used to mix tracks and edit components of music and instruments.
Digital effetcs such as EQ(equilisation) Chorus and Reverb are used in Cubase. EQ describes the process whereby selected frequency ranges within the spectrum of an audio stream can be amplified or attenuated.
Chorus is an effect that layers the sound to make it sound like more people are performing it, so it becomes thicker.
Reverberation is time for a space in which music is played depends on the type of music that is to be played in the space.
Review on Cubase 4
Advantages on Cubase is that once you know how to use cubase properly its easy and good way to create and edit sounds but a disadvamtage is that it takes a while to get used to  it can also be very complicated to get started using.
Also you need a dongle or file to open and use Cubase for a long period of time. Another dis-advantage is that this program is extremely complicated to get used to and can take a while to understand.
